AP Rankings; College Football fans await BCS Rankings

AP Rankings revealed, fans await BCS Rankings

Ohio State maintained their number one ranking according to the new AP polls. Their 54-10 victory over Northwestern on Saturday was enough to keep them 63 points ahead of Michigan.

Michigan remained number two in the AP after beating Indiana 34-3 and are preparing to travel to Columbus to take on Ohio State next week. The winner of next week’s game will virtually assure themselves of a ticket to the BCS Championship game in Arizona.

The University of Florida managed to grab the number three spot in the AP Rankings despite a narrow escape from SEC foe South Carolina. If Florida can manage to win out the rest of their games, which include FSU and the SEC Championship game they may find themselves playing for the National Championship.

USC just missed leapfrogging Florida in the AP Rankings, falling just three votes short. Their convincing 35-10 victory over Oregon landed them the number four spot, and they could pick up more quality points next week if they manage to knock of University of California, the following week they host Notre Dame.

Arkansas moved all the way up to number five in the AP after easily handling Tennessee 31-14 on Saturday. The Razorbacks still have LSU on their schedule and will have to defeat Florida in the SEC Championship if they have any chance of playing for the National Championship.

Notre Dame continued to make their case for inclusion in the National Championship picture with a 39-17 win over Air Force. The Irish will have to defeat Army and then beat USC in Los Angeles for them to even be considered in the equation. They will more than likely be rooting for Michigan on Saturday; an Ohio State victory would hurt Notre Dames chances of playing for the BCS title.
