Borat continues glorious run at the box-office, beats out all the newcomers.


Borat continued to dominate the American theaters this weekend, pulling in another $29 million to maintain the number one spot tit earned a week ago. After ten days, the Sacha Baron Cohan inspired Kazakhstani has pulled in $67.8 million. Initially distributed to just 837 theaters, the demand for Borat brought it to 2,566 theaters over the weekend.

Following in the footsteps of Borat were a familiar pair. The Santa Clause 3 and Flushed Away took the two and three spot behind Borat. The Santa Clause 3 took in another $16.9 million in its second week while the Paramount-DreamWorks animated flick Flushed Away brought in $16.7 million.

It was a rude welcoming for the newcomers at the box-office. The Will Farrell comedy Stranger Than Fiction could only manage $14.1 million to grab the fourth spot. After a wider release, the Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett drama Babel took in $5.65 million to finish sixth at the box-office. The Return, starring Sara Michelle Geller, suffered through ha $4.8 million weekend to finish in the eighth spot and Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott couldn’t convince anybody to spend their money on A Good Year, it only managed $3.8 million.
