Bachelorette star Emily Maynard is said to be “furious” that a contestant was previously in a relationship with one of the show’s producers. Reality TV blogger Reality Steve reports Arie Luydendyk Jr., an IndyCar driver, once dated producer Cassie Lambert. Sources tell WetPaint Maynard is uncomfortable with the history between Luydendyk and Lambert, even though Lambert is currently in another relationship.
“Emily was shocked when she was told about Cassie and Arie’s history. She’s furious right now,” an insider tells WetPaint.
“The sex stuff is especially upsetting. She’s not comfortable with the fact that this guy she’s started to fall for has already slept with her producer,” the source adds.
Maynard, 25, became engaged to Brad Womack on the last season of The Bachelor, but the relationship ended several months after the finale. Before her Bachelor stint Maynard was engaged to NASCAR driver Ricky Hendrick. Shortly after his death in a plane crash in October 2004, Maynard learned she was pregnant. She gave birth to their daughter, Ricki, in June 2005.
The premiere of Maynard’s season of The Bachelorette is set to air Monday, May 13 at 9:30 p.m. on ABC.
