Team at University of Alabama develops new search engine

Over the years the internet has grown exponentially and is now a dominant force in our daily lives and critical to legal internet marketing. The internet was developed out of need and careful research.

Now the engineers from the University of Alabama in Huntsville have done some research of their own and out of need have developed a new patent research website.

“We were looking at something else,” searching for patent information, Tony Rainoldi told The Huntsville News, “We were having trouble with some issues and talked to attorneys to and asked what they do for patent searches.”

After that Rainoldi, who is an electrical engineer teamed up with Jason Martin and Brad Chassee, who also have engineering degrees to develop a new legal internet marketing tool which will make searching for a patent easier.

“All of the sites had their own issues,” Rainoldi says, “So we said ‘let’s put something together.’” And they did, they developed www.archpatent.com and it’s been “rockin’ and rollin’” since last October.

Arch Patent allows people to search users to sift through the millions of patent filings to fins relevant results. The goal was to make the legal internet marketing tool accessible to experts and novices alike. Rainoldi said, the idea was to develop a search tool, “which experts enjoy using and one which those new to patent searching would actually be able to navigate.”

Now the creators of this new search engine are aimed at marketing their new creation and capitalizing on their efforts. They submitted their website to the Alabama Launchpad Business Plan and hope to be the recipients of a $100,000 business development grant. Should they win Rainoldi said the money would into an internet marketing plan.
