Coffee shop employee returns to work after truck crashes into store

Kelly Holmberg was going about her work last week when all of the sudden she was thrown 15 feet inside her shop after a truck ran into the building on Bogard Road, breaking her nose.

“You know that expression you didn’t know what happened?” well that sums up what Holmberg was thinking until she went outside of the shop and saw a pickup truck jutting out of the south wall.

Holmberg was working at Miller’s Express last Monday when something threw her 15 feet through her the coffee shop. Just a few feet to the right she would have slammed into a counter, and a couple of feet to the left she would have been in the path of the truck. According to police a teenaged driver ran a stop sign at Seldon Road and became airborne after hitting a snow berm, crashing into the side of Miller’s. Police have not released the cause of the accident but said driver distraction could have played a part.
