Jessica Simpson is officially a mom! The singer and fashion designer gave birth to daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson Tuesday morning in Los Angeles. Maxwell is the first child for Simpson and her fiancé, former NFL star Eric Johnson. Maxwell’s arrival was announced on Simpson’s official website.
"Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby Maxwell Drew Johnson 9 lbs. 13 oz. 21 3/4. We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!" Simpson wrote.
Maxwell is not the only little one in the Simpson family. Jessica’s younger sister Ashlee Simpson welcomed a son named Bronx with ex-husband Pete Wentz in 2008.
Simpson, 31, announced her pregnancy last October on Twitter. She was engaged to Johnson, 32, in November 2010.
