Hostage Crisis in West Virginia Ends

A man was arrested and taken to a hospital after he entered a West Virginia pharmacy and took six people hostage.

The man walked into the Family Discount Pharmacy in Stollings, West Virginia at 1:20 pm and reportedly fired a shot before taking six individuals hostage. All six hostages were uninjured after the crisis ended at approximately 3:00 pm.

Before entering the store, the man apparently warned a woman to leave the pharmacy. Nancy New said the man told her “to take myself and my three grandchildren and get out of here.”

He went on to tell her “Trust me, you want to get out of here with these children now.”

After leaving the pharmacy New heard a blast, apparently the lone gunshot that was fired during the ordeal.

There have been no reports on how the incident ended, but the man suspected of firing the shot was taken to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. All six hostages were uninjured.
