Stage Collapse at Country Music Festival in Canada Kills One, Several Injured

A stage collapse at the annual Big Valley Jamboree, a country music festival near Edmonton, left one person dead and as many as 15 people injured on Saturday.

Officials are saying a strong thunderstorm coupled with high winds brought down the stage while the Billy Currington band was performing. As the stage collapsed thousands of fans fled as the structure and equipment crumpled to the ground.

The collapse occurred just moments before Oscar-winner Kevin Costner was due to take the stage with his band Modern West.
