Former Arizona Wildcats player arrested for extreme DUI

Former Arizona Wildcats basketball player Josiah Turner was arrested for DUI last Thursday after he ran a red light on the University campus.

Turner, 19, was stopped by police around 1:30 a.m. after he ran a red-light. After several filed sobriety tests, Turner submitted to a breathalyzer test which revealed his blood alcohol content was .015, almost twice the legal limit.

Turner was driving a friend’s car which did not have a visible license plate and he could not locate the vehicle registration. Turner, also, told police he did not have a valid driver’s license.

According to the arresting officer’s statement, “Turner just kept stating that he was driving his bro’s car and he just wanted to park it and get back to his dorm room,” adding Turner was, “very unsteady and unable to give clear and concise answers.’

Turner, who is a California native, is facing charges of extreme DUI, possession of alcohol (in his body) as a minor. Had Turner had a driver’s license he would have lost it for a minimum of 90 days.

Turner’s time on the Wildcats team has been plagued with problems and he was due to transfer but stayed at the University to finish his spring semester.
