Khloe Kardashian says her temporary step away from reality TV is part of her supporting husband Lamar Odom and putting their marriage first. The 27-year-old confirmed this week their E! reality show Khloe & Lamar will be put on hold while Odom works on getting his troubled NBA career back on track. Kardashian now tells People magazine they needed to “prioritize a little” when it came to their marriage and careers.
"We just wanted to prioritize a little. We just wanted a little pause. Part of being married is knowing when your husband needs your support,” she tells the magazine in a new interview.
"I'm a modern girl, but you should put your husband first," Kardashian adds. "I like to think divorce is not an option."
Odom, 32, was traded to the Dallas Mavericks last year after 7 years with the Los Angeles Lakers. His poor performance with the Mavericks led to a brief stint in the D-league in March. Odom confirmed in early April that he was leaving the Mavericks. He has been listed as inactive since the announcement.
In an e-mail to MTV earlier this week, Kardashian’s rep said Odom’s return to basketball “is [the] priority right now.” Kardashian and Odom will still appear on E!’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
