Astron Wireless Technologies, Inc. Receives Patent for their Exclusive HESA™ (High Efficiency, Sensitivity, and Accuracy) Direction Finding Antenna Platform

The Patented HESA™ DF technology features an instant-on, wide spectrum frequency range with future-ready expandability all in a smaller footprint than typical DF antenna systems.

Astron Wireless Technologies, Inc., a leader in wireless technologies for government, defense and commercial applications, announced today that it has received a patent for their exclusive HESA™ (High Efficiency, Sensitivity and Accuracy) Direction Finding (DF) Antenna Platform.

The HESA™ DF technology platform provides for an environment that optimizes antenna and system efficiency, leading to greater signal capture and reduced error rates. As a result, the HESA™ Technology which is a non-switching, instant-on platform, can operate within a wide spectrum of frequencies - from 2 MHz through 18 GHz. Furthermore, with its plug-n-play capabilities, the system can easily be upgraded for future needs.

The HESA™ DF Antenna Platform also results in much smaller antenna footprints than what is typically found with other systems. “Our Chief Technology Officer and primary architect of this revolutionary technology, Mr. Glenn Brown achieved this by developing what we call ‘Smart Techniques’ and networking them with various element types and their components” explained James Jalbert “this allowed us to co-locate multiple frequencies using spatial density techniques especially for HF and VHF frequencies, resulting in overall compact packages and smaller visual signatures for mission critical applications.”

Astron Wireless Technologies has already developed several miniaturized DF antenna systems utilizing the HESA™ DF Platform. Systems have been developed for submarines, shipboard, airborne and man-pack, man-portable, vehicular and other land-based applications.
