Outward Media, Inc.(OMI) announced today that it has officially launched OMI Clean-Send database. Clean-Send is a database consisting of approximately 300 million consumer "negative" email records. The database consists of spam-traps, hard bounces, bad syntax, known complainers -- a total of 13 different negative or bad email data categories.
Paula Chiocchi, OMI President, stated "Clean-Send is the most comprehensive solution for Business-to-Consumer marketers who reach customers and prospects via the email channel. In using this product, one Client matched over 30% of their internal database against OMI Clean-Send. By removing those records, they were able to save a significant amount of both data and deployment costs. More importantly, by removing this bad email data from their database, they were at less risk of being black-listed by ISP's or having issues with Spamhaus." (Note: The Spamhaus project is a non-profit internet watchdog agency that attempts to catch spammers and shut them down).
Businesses that conduct a high volume of email marketing campaigns can license Clean-Send on a monthly basis to keep internal databases as clean as possible. "With the constant turnover and erosion of consumer email addresses, no solution can catch all negative email data," cautions Chiocchi. "However, by using OMI's solution, you can catch a very high percentage of them."
Approximately 8-10 millions new records are added to the database each month as part of OMI's rigorous cleansing and updating process. This is a further indicator of the extremely erosive nature of consumer email data. In future releases, OMI will add additional functionality to OMI Clean-Send. Chiocchi comments, "Our desire is to make OMI Clean-Send easily accessible for all marketers. We believe that using this solution will positively impact email deliverability rates -- an important attribute to email marketing success."
