Encounter with a bee causes traffic accident on California Freeway

A truck driver crashed his rig into the parking lot of a local school and caused major traffic delays on Highway 15 Thursday evening after a bee flew into the cab of his rig.

“A bee got into my cab and I lost my traction,” says the truck driver Oleg Vavilov, “I saw approaching cars when I looked up and tried to escape the collision.”

One of the approaching cars stopped suddenly causing another to vehicle to hit it from behind.

California Highway Patrol says Vavilov veered across both the northbound and southbound lanes of Hwy 15, crossing the center divider. The rig then ran into a parked car before coming to rest in the parking lot at Calvary Chapel High School.

A man was sitting in the parked vehicle while he waited for his children to get out of school. As he saw the truck approaching he moved to passenger side and was able to escape injury.

Amazingly, no one was injured in this the accident; however there was significant damage to the school parking lot and to the other vehicles involved in the incident.
