Plaxico Burress Indicted by Manhattan Grand Jury, Facing Charges of Gun Possession and Reckless Endangerment

Former New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress was indicted on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of reckless endangerment by a Manhattan grand jury on Monday.

Burress, 31, was arrested last November after he accidentally shot himself in the leg at a New York nightclub. It was later determined that the gun that had been fired was not licensed, leading to the charge of illegal possession of a firearm.

While Burress was indicted his former teammate, Antonio Pierce, was not despite taking the wide receiver to the hospital following the shooting and then taking the gun back to Burress’ house before the shooting was ever reported to police.
