NBA scores and highlights form Tuesday night

The Atlanta Hawks (4-3) came back from a 15 first quarter deficit and built a 10 point lead only to allow the Milwaukee Bucks (3-5) back, eventually losing 103-101.  Milwaukee snapped a four game losing streak as Michael Redd poured in a game high 30 points. Joe Johnson and Tyronn Lue each scored 29 points for the Hawks.

The Denver Nuggets (3-3) won their third straight game after knocking off the Miami Heat (3-4) 112-105. Carmelo Anthony scored 33 points. Dwyane Wade had 37 points, 11 assists, and 8 rebounds in the loss. Miami has lost two consecutive games, both at home. Shaquille O’Neil missed another game for the Heat because of a hyperextended left knee. Andre Miller had a big game for the Nuggets, finishing with 29 points, 10 assists, and 8 rebounds.

Peja Stojakovic scored a career high 42 points to help the NO/Oklahoma Hornets (5-4) snap a three game losing streak and beat the Charlotte Bobcats (1-6) 94-85. Chris Paul added 10 assists for the Hornets. Emeka Okafor had a big game for the Bobcats scoring 25 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. Okafor also blocked 7 Hornets shots. Adam Morrison tied his career high with 21 points in the loss.

Kevin Garnett had 20 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and Ricky Davis finished with 27 points as the Minnesota Timberwolves (3-4) defeated the Portland Trail Blazers (4-4) 101-89. Zach Randolph led the Trail Blazers with 26 points, but Portland couldn’t come back from a 19 point hole they dug themselves into after the first quarter.

The Dallas Mavericks (3-4) got 31 points from Dirk Nowitzki and won for the first time at home beating the Chicago Bulls (3-4) 111-99. Erick Dampier added 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Mavericks. Kirk Hinrich scored 25 points to lead the Bulls while Luol Deng added 24 points in the loss.

The Houston Rockets (5-3) could only manage 9 points in the fourth quarter and allowed a 19 point lead to slip away as the San Antonio Spurs (6-1) fought their way to a 92-84 win. Tim Duncan had 19 points and 15 rebounds as the Spurs knocked off the Rockets for the seventh consecutive time. Tracy McGrady had 26 points for the Rockets and Yao Ming added 20 points in a losing effort.

The LA Clippers (5-2) had their five game win streak snapped as the Utah Jazz (7-1) continued their impressive play with a 112-90 victory at home. Carlos Boozer had 16 points, 15 rebounds, and 7 assists for the Jazz and Mehmet Okur added 27 points for the Jazz. Utah outscored the Clippers 33-18 in the fourth quarter.

 
Baron Davis had 22 points and 12 assists and Mike Dunleavy added another 22 points and grabbed 8 rebounds as the Golden State Warriors (5-3) beat the Toronto Raptors (2-5) 110-99. Chris Bosh had another big game for the Raptors with 23 points while collecting 22 rebounds. T.J. Ford had 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the loss.
