Britney Spears facing countersuit in Ireland
What a tangled web we weave. Britney Spears may have landed herself in a serious “damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t” situation.
Spears sued the Irish newspaper The Sunday Independent in June after the media outlet printed an interview with the pop princess. Upon publication Spears claimed that her comments were taken out of context and made it appear as if her marriage to Kevin Federline was faltering.
Five months after the article appeared Spears filed for divorce from her husband and now the newspaper’s owners are beyond upset.
Simon McAleese, attorney for the newspaper, said “Britney is trying to get money. It was plainly bloody obvious that her marriage was on the rocks when the interview took place. She is a Hollywood airhead. Why should my clients have to pay for her bubble headed rubbish?”
“We’re fed up. Her gaffe has been blown. It’s a shame we’re dealing with ludicrous drivel like this as it can be costly.”
Now Spears is caught in a situation where divorcing her husband could cost her some serious fees over the seas. If she stays with Federline she might lose more money feeding another child.
