Yes, Christians Have Problems With Pain Pill Addiction Too

Don't let shame interfere with recovery

Christians have problems with addiction to pain pills just like anybody else, and struggle with the negative consequences of an addiction to pain pills. Pain drug recovery is just as difficult for a Christian – make no mistake of that!

Christians who have an addiction to pain pills often wrestle with feelings of guilt and shame. They believe that if they admit their pain pill addiction, they will be viewed as flawed and weak. The reality is everyone is flawed and weak. When one is a Christian, they understand that they will make mistakes and find themselves in awkward situations. The beautiful thing about God's love and grace is that they are boundless.

The Bible says, in Romans 5:8, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

It can be difficult to retain one's faith in God and faith in themselves when one is struggling with an addiction to pain pills. But pain drug recovery is within reach for every Christian if they commit to working hard and making the effort.
