A Bronx woman has been
arrested and charged in the murder of 90-year-old Holocaust survivor Felix
Brinkmann. Angela Murray, 30, was arrested Saturday and charged with murder and
robbery. Police are still seeking an unnamed man in connection Brinkmann’s
death.
Murray was arraigned Sunday.
She is charged with one count of second degree murder and three counts of
robbery. Brinkmann was found beaten and strangled in his Upper East Side
apartment last Thursday. His 2009 Honda Civic was stolen and a safe in his
apartment tampered with.
Brinkmann survived the
Nazis’s Mauthausen, Ebensee and Auschwitz concentration camps. He had been
slated to die in the gas chambers five times, but each time escaped death by
talking his way out.
After WWII ended, Brinkmann
discovered that his wife had also survived the camps. They immigrated to
America where Brinkmann opened bars and nightclubs. He later became a real
estate manager.
