Delaware non-profit offers free advice on divorce finances

A non-profit organization, the Delaware Financial Literacy Institute, through the Money School is offering a free course designed to give sound financial advice to people facing divorce.

The Money School will cover the financial aspects of divorce such as division of property and assets, spousal support and alimony. The instructor chosen for the course is certified financial planner, Samuel Slabaugh, who will take the mystery out of this complex issue.

Slabaugh has written and spoken about this subject many times, therefore he is a qualified instructor. His course, however will only deal with the divorce finances, but his advice will allow the student to use their logic, instead of emotion, to make important decisions about their financial future.

Divorcing couples also need to know their rights as parents, so a Delaware divorce attorney can cover the issues of child custody and support during a consultation. Family issues often bring up ugly emotions if the divorcing couple cannot reach an agreeable settlement, which will have a negative effect on their children.

A divorce is a tumultuous affair, but with the guidance of a divorce lawyer, the estranged couple will be given the chance to work on their differences and come up with a settlement that they can both agree on.

But dissolution can be very contentious, and they need the expert representation of a Delaware divorce attorney, who will work diligently to assure that the final settlement is in their client’s best interests.
