In the case, a postal worker claimed that a former NASCAR driver was negligent in allowing his five pitbulls to run loose on his property, which led to the postal worker being attacked by the dogs when delivering a package.
On April 21, 2011, the postal worker was delivering the mail to the former race car driver’s house. The postal worker had a package that was too big to fit in the mailbox outside of the driver’s gate. She drove through the homeowner’s gate to deliver the package and encountered the homeowner’s five dogs that attacked her.
The postal worker’s injuries were so severe that she had to be treated at a local hospital. The dog bite injuries left the postal worker with nerve damage and caused her to miss several months of work.
