NHL scores and highlights from Thursday night
 
The Boston Bruins (7-6-3) got a goal from Patrice Bergeron in overtime to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs (11-5-4) 2-1. It as the third straight victory for the Bruins, who also got a power play goal from Phil Kessel in the first period. Bryan McCabe scored the equalizer for the Leafs on a power play in the second period.

Olli Jokinen had a hat trick for Florida (7-9-4) and the Panthers blasted the Montreal Canadiens (10-5-3) 5-1. Chris Gratton got the scoring started for the Panthers with a first period goal and Nathan Horton contributed three assists for Florida. Ed Belfour stopped 27 of 28 shots mining the net for Florida.

The Minnesota Wild (12-6-0) survived a 3-1 first period deficit and went on to beat the Nashville Predators (11-4-2) 7-6 in a shootout. It was Brian Rolston’s goal in the shootout that was the game decider. Nashville held a 6-4 lead going into the third period before Pavol Demitra and Brent Burns scored third period goals for the Wild.
 
The Edmonton Oilers (10-8-1) jumped to a 4-0 lead on the St. Louis Blues (5-10-3) and went on to win 6-2. Ryan Smyth started the scoring for the Oilers two minutes into the first period while Marc-Andre Bergeron added two goals for Edmonton. Ales Hemsky had three assists for the Oilers.
 
Ladislav Nagy scored the game winning goal in the shootout for Phoenix as the Coyotes went on to beat the Chicago Blackhawks (6-9-2) 3-2. The Coyotes fell behind 2-1 in the first period before Mike Zigomanis scored in the third period to force extra time. Curtis Joseph stopped 32 of 34 shots he faced for the Coyotes. 

Los Angeles (6-11-4) blew a two goal lead in the third period as the visiting Philadelphia Flyers (5-12-2) stunned the Kings 4-3. Geoff Sanderson gave the Flyers the lead late in the first period but Alexander Frolov tied it up early in the second. Frolov went on to score the King’s third goal in the final period but Simon Gagne and R.J. Umberger scored at 13:13 and 13:53 in the third to tie the score. Umberger went on to score the game winner less than three minutes later for the Flyers.
