NBA scores and highlights from Thursday night
The Chicago Bulls (3-5) couldn’t overcome an 11 point halftime deficit and fell to the Houston Rockets (6-3) 101-100. The Rockets got double-doubles from Yao Ming (20 points, 12 rebounds) and Tracy McGrady (21 points, 11 rebounds) to survive a late Bulls charge. Ben Gordon had 37 points in the loss while the Bulls were out-rebounded 48-35. Chicago’s problems on the board have continued to be a problem despite their off season acquisition of Ben Wallace. Wallace was held to just 5 rebounds in the loss.
Golden State (6-3) got the scoring started early, building a 40-28 lead after the first quarter and went on to beat the Sacramento Kings (5-3) 117-105. Baron Davis had a another big game for the Warriors with 36 points, 18 assists, and 8 rebounds while Mickael Pietrus dropped 26 points for Golden State. Kevin Martin led the Kings with 26 points in the loss. Golden State shot 58 percent from the field while the Kings were only 1-17 from beyond the arch.
