A pair of armed men approached a group of 15-20 individuals outside a Connecticut Wal-Mart and demanded money. The group was one of many bands across the U.S. who have been waiting outside stores for an opportunity to purchase Sony’s new gaming console Playstation 3, PS3.
The two armed men, believed to be teenagers, approached the group just after 3:00 a.m. brandishing guns and demanding money. One member of the group refused the demand and was shot.
Across the U.S. the Playstation 3, PS3, along with the Nintendo Wii, have created near riots. With a limited supply and a huge demand individuals have had to stand in lines, sometimes for days, just to have the opportunity to purchase a unit.
The Sony Playstation 3 retails between $500 to $600 but online auction sites have listed the game console at three times that price.
There have been no reports on the condition of the individual shot in the Connecticut incident.
