The man who encased himself in a block of ice for nearly three days, stood on a 100 foot pillar for a day and a half, and suspended himself over the River Thames for 44 days without eating has come up with his next physical challenge.
David Blaine has put his deck of cards away and decided once again to opt for suspension as a means to amaze. His latest stunt will entail two days shackled inside a spinning gyroscope suspended above New York.
The two day affair will begin next Tuesday and the spinning won’t stop until Thursday, at which time he will attempt to escape from the shackles. During this whole ordeal the American magician will not have anything to eat or drink while suspended 50 feet in the air.
Speaking about the challenge Blaine said “This one's exciting for me. This one's a fun one.”
Not that fun means taking it easy. Blaine was sure to make the stunt as demanding as possible “"Just to make it more difficult on myself, I added a motor (to the gyroscope), so even when I'm sleeping there'll be continuous movement. ... I think I'm going to have to stay awake the whole time.”
