Idaho State Trooper injured in a chain-reaction traffic accident

An Idaho State Trooper and one other person was injured after a chain reaction traffic accident early Monday morning.

Idaho State Patrol said the accident, involving fours cars, happened around 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 55 and Middleton Rd.

According to reports, three cars were sitting at the intersection with a patrol car last in line. The driver of the fourth car rear-ended the patrol car, which then set off a domino effect causing damage to all four cars.

The driver of the fourth car that caused the accident and the state trooper were injured. They were both taken to St. Alphonsus Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other drivers had minor injuries.

One lane of northbound Middleton Road was closed for two hours. Police don’t believe alcohol was involved in the accident.
