Pete Doherty Arrested on Suspicion of Possessing Crack Cocaine
In the never ending saga of Pete Doherty and his struggles to kick a drug addiction, the “Babyshambles” lead singer was arrested yet again on Saturday. After London police officers spotted the 27-year-old Doherty navigating his Jaguar in typical erratic fashion they pulled him over and found crack cocaine in their possession.
Pete Doherty, the on again, off again boyfriend of supermodel Kate Moss, was released on bail, as were the two friends that were in the car at the time it was pulled over.
Doherty’s drug problems have been well documented as have been his recurring stays at Priory, a well known treatment center located in west London. Each time he leaves he seems to find himself back in the grips of addiction.
In 2004 he got the boot from “The Libertines” after band members told him to get a handle on his obvious drug problem.
Doherty has also run into legal problems outside of drugs. He was fined earlier this month for assaulting a BBC reporter outside a court room.
As for his most recent run-in with the law, Doherty and his two friends must report back to the police in December.
Kate Moss has repeatedly stated that she would only stay with the singer if he was able to clean up his act and remain sober. Her involvement with Doherty nearly ended her career when she was photographed apparently using drugs herself.
