LaDainian Tomlinson continued to run through the NFL season finding the endzone four times as the San Diego Chargers (8-2) defeated the Denver Broncos (7-3) 35-27.
The game was historic in several different areas. Tomlinson reached 100 touchdowns faster than any player in NFL history. It took Ladainian Tomlinson 89 games to reach the century mark while Jim Brown and Emmitt Smith hit that milestone in their 93rd game.
Tomlinson also hit the 1,000 yard mark on the season. It is the sixth consecutive year for the running back to hit that mark.
As a team, history was gained for the Chargers resilience. They became the first team in NFL history to overcome back-to-back games trailing by 17 points.
The Chargers fell behind by 17 points midway through the third quarter but managed to claw their way back and outscore the Broncos 28-3 the rest of the way.
Tomlinson rushed for 105 yards on 20 carries and had four touchdowns for the second game in a row. Philip Rivers threw for 222 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Chargers win. Michael Turner had a big game for the Chargers special teams unit returning four kickoffs for 146 yards.
Mike Bell rushed for 90 yards and had 2 touchdowns for the Broncos and Jake Plummer threw for 183 yards in the loss.
