The Eichholz Law Firm Donates Equipment to West Broad Street YMCA

The Eichholz Law Firm recently donated two pieces of great equipment to the fitness center of the West Broad Street YMCA. Both pieces are state-of-the-art and made by Body Masters.

One piece is a universal station for working on full upper body strength. The other focuses on the abdomen and legs, developing lower body strength. 

Andre, one of the members of the West Broad Street YMCA and frequent user of the new equipment, loves it.

"I can do everything I want on these two pieces of equipment," says Andre. "The leg machine is great because it conditions without too much strain on the muscles. I can really get the physical fitness routine I want. I just want to stay in shape and be healthy. This really helps!"

The West Broad Street YMCA received a call a while back from the Eichholz family, offering the equipment.

"We saw a need in an organization who is really helping people and we thought we could do some good," offers David Eichholz. "We are really happy to see that it is being used and enjoyed by the members."   

The West Broad Street YMCA is one of six Heritage YMCAs in the country.

Founded in 1947 during legalized segregation, the West Broad Street YMCA proudly serves all of downtown Savannah. Along with a great fitness center, gym, pool and aerobics facility, the West Broad Street YMCA has an early learning center for 80 children and provides afterschool and summer enrichment to over 150 children.

In 2011, over 1,000 unique children received services, including a hot meal. It also provides GED classes, adult education, a public library, organic community garden, tutorials, and a school alternative for middle school children on short term suspension.
