Boston Red Sox left-fielder Jason Bay will miss Thursday night’s series opener against the New York Yankees after re-injuring his right hamstring. Several reports have suggested Bay would also sit out game two of the four-game series on Friday.
Bay had already missed a pair of games due to the injury but returned to the Red Sox lineup on Wednesday when Boston faced the Tampa Bay Rays. He then aggravated the injury in the eighth inning while running out a ground ball.
Bay leads the Red Sox with 21 HRs and 75 RBIs.
