Orlando Magic Forward Rashard Lewis Suspended for Positive Test

Orlando Magic forward Rashard Lewis has been suspended for ten games by the NBA after testing positive for an elevated testosterone level.

Lewis accepted responsibility for the positive test, stating “First and foremost I take full responsibility for the situation and accept the corresponding penalty.” He then acknowledged, “Toward the end of the season I took an over-the-counter supplement which at the time I did not realize included a substance banned by the NBA.”

According to a report from the Orlando Sentinel Lewis tested positive for DHEA, a substance banned by most sports leagues.

Lewis, 29, will be suspended for the first ten regular-season games in which he is eligible and able to play.
