After widespread controversy surround O.J. Simpson’s book entitled “If I Did It”, Rupert Murdoch and the senior management of News Corp decided to cancel publication. The book was supposed to offer insight from Simpson on how he would have carried out the murders of Nicole Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.
The has been a widespread backlash against Murdoch and News Corp ever since ReganBooks, a division of News Corp owned HarperCollins announced it would be publishing the book.
Simpson was scheduled to appear on a Fox network television interview to be conducted by Judith Regan, the woman responsible for publishing the book. That broadcast has been cancelled as well. Several Fox affiliates had already said they would not air the interview after receiving threats to boycott the station.
In 1995 Simpson was acquitted of murder charges that surrounded the death of his ex-wife and Goldman. While he was found not guilty, Simpson has yet to convince the public of his innocence.
