NHL Scores from Monday Night Nov. 20

Joe Nieuwendyk, Thomas Vanek and Evgeni Malkin lead their teams to victory on Monday night

Joe Nieuwendyk scored a power play goal for Florida (8-10-4) in the third period to give his team a two goal advantage and the Panthers went on to beat the Boston Bruins (8-8-2) 3-2. The Panthers also got goals from Martin Gelinas and Nathan Horton. Glen Murray scored both goals for the Bruins who had their four game winning streak snapped.
 
The second period was a nightmare for the Tampa Bay Lightning (10-10-1) as they gave up seven goals to the Buffalo Sabres (17-3-1) and lost 7-2. Paul Gaustad and Thomas Vanek each scored two goals in the second period while Ales Kotalik contributed three 

The Pittsburgh Penguins (10-7-2) scored three goals in the first period and went on to beat the Philadelphia Flyers (5-14-2) for the fourth time this year 5-3. Sidney Crosby had a goal and an assist while Evgeni Malkin had a pair of assists for the Penguins. Simon Gagne had a goal and an assist for the Flyers and Joni Pitkanen assisted on all three goals for Philadelphia.
 
The Nashville Predators (13-4-2) got goals from Paul Kariya, Scott Nichol, and Martin Erat to beat the Columbus Blue Jackets (5-13-1) 3-1. It was the sixth straight loss for Columbus. Kariya and Erat each had an assist to go with their goals. Tomas Vokoun stopped 23 of 24 shots for the Predators.
 
The Ottawa Senators (9-11-1) scored three first period goals and added a goal in the second and third periods to beat the Minnesota Wild (12-7-1) 5-3. Ray Emery had 42 saves for Ottawa. Mike Fisher and Tom Preissing each had a pair of assists for the Senators.
 
Kyle Wellwood had a goal and an assist for the Toronto Maple Leafs (12-6-4) who skated to a 4-2 win over the NY Islanders (9-7-3). The Leafs scored three first period goals to grab a 3-1 advantage and added a power play goal from Alexei Ponikarovsky in the third period to finish the scoring.

The Dallas Stars (14-6-0) overcame an nearly 2-0 deficit and went on to beat the Colorado Avalanche (9-10-2) 5-4. Marek Svatos scored the first two goals of the game for Colorado but Brenden Morrow equaled the feat scoring two goals of his own to tie the score. John-Michael Liles gave the Avs the lead: 41 seconds into the third period but Eric Lindros tied the score for the Stars before Antti Miettinen got the game winner.
