Despite Clay Aiken’s vow to not be a runner up again, the American Idol alum lost the Celebrity Apprentice title to comedian Arsenio Hall on last night’s season finale.
For the final task Hall and Aiken each had to host a variety show to raise money for their charities and put together a public service announcement about the organizations. They received help from their former Apprentice rivals – Hall teamed up with Adam Corolla, Lisa Lampanelli, Paul Teutel Sr. and Teresa Giudice while Aiken’s team consisted of Penn Jillette, Debbie Gibson, Dee Snider and Aubrey O'Day.
In the end, Aiken’s carnival themed show earned over $300,000 for the National Inclusion Project, a charity the singer started to support disabled children participating in activities with children with no disabilities. Hall’s comedy act raked in $167,000 for his chosen charity, the Magic Johnson Foundation. The foundation supports HIV and AIDS research.
When it came to choosing a winner, Donald Trump admitted he had “never been so torn” about the decision. Hall, 56, was ultimately awarded the title and the $250,000 donation to his charity.
