With the first cocktail party and rose ceremony behind them, Emily Maynard and her 19 bachelors enjoyed their first set of dates. The first date, a one-on-one, went to Ryan, an athletic trainer from Augusta, GA.
Maynard broke away from the usual over the top dates and took Ryan to her Charlotte home to help bake cookies for her daughter’s soccer team. After delivering the cookies the pair enjoyed a private dinner at Emily’s favorite local restaurant. Emily grilled Ryan on his past relationships and what he is looking for in a partner. Apparently satisfied that he has the right intentions, Emily gave Ryan the date rose. They ended the night with a private concert by country band Gloriana.
For the group date, Alejandro, Nate, Alessandro, Tony, Michael, John, Jef, Charlie, Kyle, Chris, Aaron, Stevie and Kalon met Emily at a local theater where they were told they could be performing with the Muppets. The guys got one-on-one time with Emily after the show. She gave the date rose to Jef because he seemed shy throughout the date.
The second one-on-one date went to Joe. Emily took him to her home state of West Virginia to visit a place from her childhood – the Greenbrier Hotel. They toured the grounds and swam before getting dressed up for dinner. Over the meal Emily questioned Joe about what he wanted for his future, and she was not happy about his answer. Joe did not seem eager to get married right away and start a family. Emily sent him packing.
Emily eliminated Aaron and Kyle at the rose ceremony.
