Actor Michael McKean Hit By Car In Manhattan

Michael McKean is hospitalized in New York City for multiple injuries sustained in an accident Tuesday afternoon. McKean’s manager says the 64-year-old was walking at 86th Street and Broadway when he was hit by an out of control car that barreled onto the sidewalk. Witnesses reportedly saw him coughing up blood at the scene.

"Hopefully, he'll be fine," Harriet Sternberg told the New York Post. "He has sustained multiple injuries, and we are trying to find out the extent of other injuries."

McKean’s most serious injury is reportedly a broken leg. He also sustained multiple cuts and bruises.

Three people who were riding in the vehicle also sustained injuries and were hospitalized. The extent of their injuries is unclear.

McKean currently stars on Broadway’s The Best Man alongside James Earl Jones and Angela Lansbury. Sternberg says his injuries will force him miss performances. "He's upset about missing his curtain," added Sternberg.

McKean, who is married to actress Annette O'Toole, is perhaps best known for playing Lenny on Laverne & Shirley. He was a regular on Saturday Night Live from 1994 to 1995. His film credits include This Is Spinal Tap, Coneheads, The Brady Bunch Movie and That Darn Cat.
