Joanne Cave to Speak at TEDx Edmonton 2012 on the Sustainability of Canada’s Non-profit Sector from the Youth Perspective

Joanne Cave, analyst at The Mezzanine Group, will speak at the TEDx Edmonton 2012 conference on June 9th at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton. Cave will share her thoughts on cultivating leadership and social change among young people.

TEDx Edmonton will challenge its attendees to go beyond ideas and fight constraints by creating momentum to inspire followers to take action.  The purpose of the conference is to create a forum for the exchange of innovative ideas.

“I’m going to use my experience in the non-profit sector, both in Edmonton and Toronto, to provoke some questions about how we can create a stronger and more sustainable social sector in Canada. I'm hoping to convey that we need to take collective responsibility for social issues, and we need to be strategic about sector-level solutions that allow non-profits and charities to do their best work,” says Cave. “I'll also be talking about a current community-based project I'm working on to create a network of younger non-profit leaders in Toronto, which provides space to have sector-level conversations about issues like policy advocacy, program evaluation, funding reform, succession planning, and labour force planning.”

The Mezzanine Group often works with non-profit clients, and celebrates its employees as thought leaders and engaged community members.
