Teen Mom star Amber Portwood was sentenced to five years in jail Tuesday after an Indiana judge revoked her plea deal in a 2011 drug arrest. RadarOnline.com the troubled 21-year-old requested that the original jail sentence be imposed because she was unable to complete the drug rehab program required in the plea agreement.
Portwood was arrested in May 10 for missing a court ordered drug test. She was released from jail a week later, but turned herself in on May 25. Radar reports Portwood told the judge she “couldn’t stand” the drug program and wanted to go to jail instead.
This is not Portwood’s first run-in with the law. She was previous arrested for domestic violence against fiancé Gary Shirley, who is the father of her 3-year-old daughter Leah. Shirley currently has custody of Leah.
Portwood has not commented on her latest legal issues. Her relationship and rehab troubles will be featured on the fourth and final season of Teen Mom, which is set to premiere on MTV Tuesday, June 12 at 10 p.m. EST.
