Pyrenees Highlights: World Heritage Site Hiking in the French and Spanish Pyrenees from August 28 - September 6, 2012

The French and Spanish Pyrenees are a remote and rugged mountain area, a land full of legends and reported curing powers. They represent one of the last remaining wilderness areas in Europe. The range along the border between France and Spain is not as high as the Alps but is nonetheless dramatically beautiful and less developed than other areas. Similar to the way locals have moved freely across the mountain border for hundreds of years, hiking tours in this area also provide the opportunity to experience both sides of this beautiful area of dramatic cirques, quaint stone villages, mountain lakes, wild flowers and charming hotels.

Bredeson Outdoor Adventures is pleased to announce a guided tour from August 28 - September 6, 2012 offering nine nights and ten days in the French and Spanish Pyrenees hiking some of the best trails in two National Parks. Participants will take in the famous Brèche de Roland and the magnificent Ordesa Canyon, both of which fall in an area registered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The guide is a Certified Mountain Leader, who has made this area his home for the past 20 years and knows it inside and out.

The Pyrenees Highlights trip combines the comfort of being able to relax for two to three nights in a row at most locations, with the high adventure that comes with a point-to-point tour where you arrive at the next destination on foot.

This is truly an adventure on the trail less traveled!
