Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are taking a big step in their relationship – the couple is engaged! Reps for the pair confirmed the news to People magazine. Hemsworth proposed with a 3.5-carat Neil Lane ring on May 31.
"I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam," Cyrus tells People.
No other details on their engagement were released. The news comes just two months after Cyrus denied engagement rumors, saying a diamond ring on her ring finger was not an engagement ring. "I'm not engaged. I've worn this same ring on this finger since November! People just wanna find something to talk about! It's a topaz people!” the she Tweeted.
Cyrus, 19, and Hemsworth, 22, began dating in 2009 after meeting on the set of The Last Song. The split briefly the following year, but rekindled their romance in 2011.
Hemsworth is currently filming Empire State with Emma Roberts. He will begin filming the Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire later this year. Cyrus is currently working on her fourth album.
