Hidden Beach Recordings is proud to announce the release of the 3 volume Series CRATES: REMIX FUNDAMENTALS featuring the remixed versions of Jill Scott’s greatest tracks. CRATES: REMIX FUNDAMENTALS VOL.1 is the first of three remix volumes on deck from Jill Scott this summer. The 3 part release is set to capture the spirit of summer, with upbeat tempos and catchy dance beats that create that perfect “Summer Feeling”, available June 26th.
Hidden Beach Records has paired the hits of Jill Scott with some of music’s biggest DJs including Ron Trent, Ca$e Boogie and Mr. Mig. Jill Scott is one of the most remixed artists in recent history, and Hidden Beach is taking her soulful vocals to new level to be enjoyed by new audiences worldwide. CRATES: REMIX FUNDAMENTALS VOLUME 1 brings some of the hottest remixes together in one place for that perfect Spring Summer Feeling.
The centerpiece of CRATES: VOLUME 1 is "Spring Summer Feeling - The Ron Trent Mix" a ten minute house music workout that will transport audiences poolside in Miami. An inspired album sequence, CRATES rockets off with the pulsating synth driven mix of "Can't Explain" by Ca$e Boogie who brings forth his hit making sensibilities, from prior work with Jamie Foxx and Young Money. The party continues with the aggressively retooled "Bedda At Home," by newcomer Stephen Rivera, replete with swooping and stuttering vocals and rock guitar to boot. While "Talk to Me - The 314 Mix" positively percolates as Jaymes "Th3ree Fourteen" Ball, who has worked with Maybach Music and Miami's Trick Daddy, makes dance floor magic. Mr. Mig's Circuit-ready audio signature, evident in mixes for Beyoncé and Kristine W., is present here transforming the plaintive "Whatever" into the "Powerful Love Mix," leading directly to the aforementioned "Spring Summer Feeling" remixed by Chicago House music master Ron Trent. After all of that energy, Jacques Richmond and Bruce Walker begin to slow the tempo with remix of "Come See Me" and followed by Kell's urban shuffler "Slowly, Surely - The Teddy Vee Mix."
Taking us back to the start of Jill Scott’s career is the DJ Jazzy Jeff Redux of "A Long Walk," from her breakthrough record from the fall of 2000. Jazzy Jeff, the architect of Jill Scott's breakthrough masterpiece "Who Is Jill Scott?" was the only producer in a position to have vocals re-sung, making this is the first time this mix has been made available on CD. Closing out this collection is Kyle West's dreamy vision of the poetic "Love Rain" reminding us all of the lyrical and musical treasures to be found when digging in the CRATES.
This is the first remixed collection of Jill Scott and Hidden Beaches and each volume will be release through 3 consecutive months, starting with Volume 1 on June 26th.
