In a new interview with People magazine, Charlie Grogran admits he was shocked when Bachelorette Emily Maynard sent him packing at the Bermuda rose ceremony because he felt she kept several “fake” guys around.
“Getting sent home was a shocker, because I didn't feel some of the guys left were as suitable for her. I am a lot better person than some of those guys. I've never been the guy to name names, but there are guys who are fake and who are there for other opportunities that can come out of being on a TV show,” he says.
Revealing that he met Maynard through mutual friends several years ago, the 32-year-old Nashville recruiter says she seemed “a lot different” on the show. “Maybe there wasn't a spark or maybe she has to have a [certain] persona for the show, but sometimes conversations weren't flowing and it felt like I was talking to a wall. I had actually met her years ago through mutual friends and she acted a lot different then,” he reveals.
As for his picks for Emily, Charlie puts Sean, Travis and John at the top of his list. “From Day One, I thought Sean was a great guy. Travis is a fun-loving, outgoing personality. I had a really good man-cry one night, and Wolf and I had a really good talk. We found out we were brothers from another mother. Those dudes never really got involved in the petty [stuff],” he adds.
