Nancy Grace, the no-nonsense hard hitting talk show host on CNN Headline News, has been sued along with the CNN network for their alleged role in the suicide death of Melinda Duckett.
According to Jay Paul Deratany, the attorney representing the family of Duckett, Grace’s line of questioning and verbal battering led to Duckett’s suicide.
Duckett committed suicide September 8 after her appearance on the Grace show. Melinda Duckettt was to appear on the show to draw public attention and assistance in helping her family find her 2-year-old son Trenton.
When Melinda Duckett appeared on the show Grace questioned the mother about her whereabouts on August 27, the day Trenton was reported missing. Grace never let up on Duckett continuing to demand to know where she had been on the day her son disappeared.
Relatives of Duckettt said that Grace’s unrelenting assault caused the mother emotional distress leading to her suicide.
Trenton Duckett has yet to be found but authorities believe the boy is still alive.
