USA Today Coaches’ Poll Preseason College Football: Florida Gators Sit Atop Top 25, Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners Follow
The Florida Gators easily topped the USA Today Coaches’ Poll college football preseason Top 25, collecting 53 votes to total 1466 points. With Tim Tebow returning along with almost every offensive and defensive starter from their National Championship team of a year ago the Gators are heavy favorites to repeat.
Tebow isn’t the only marquee quarterback to head back to school though as the Texas Longhorns will once again have Colt McCoy taking the snaps under center and he’ll have his team starting the year at #2 in the Top 25 Coaches’ Poll.
Joining Tebow and McCoy in the trend to return to school, reigning Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradshaw is back at Oklahoma and his Sooners will start the season at #3 in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll.
The only other school to collect a first place vote in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll was eth USC Trojans and they are once again expected to challenge for a National Championship.
