Jaromir Jagr, Petr Sykora and Jean-Sebastien Giguere lead their teams to victories in NHL games from Tuesday night.
Jaromir Jagr scored two goals to move into 15th place on the NHL list and Brendan Shanahan and Marcel Hossa each added a goal as the NY Rangers (12-9-1) shut out the Carolina Hurricanes (12-8-3) 4-0. Henrik Lundqvist recorded his third career shutout in goal after he stopped all 34 Carolina shots.
Petr Sykora scored a goal with less than 30 seconds remaining in the first period and then added another with 6 minutes remaining in the third to lead the Edmonton Oilers (12-8-1) past the Calgary Flames (9-8-2) 2-1. Dwayne Roloson stopped 23 of 24 shots between the posts for Edmonton. Kristian Huselius scored the lone goal for Calgary.
Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped all 23 shots he faced and Teemu Salanne scored two goals as the Anaheim Ducks (15-2-5) shutout the San Jose Sharks (15-7-0) 5-0. The Ducks got goals from Chris Pronger, Ryan Getzlaf and Francois Beauchemin as Anaheim out-shot the Sharks 44-23 on the night.
