New York City police sources say Rihanna was at the heart of an early morning club brawl involving her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown and rapper Drake. Brown and five other people sustained minor injuries in the melee at the W.I.P. club in downtown Manhattan. No arrests have been made.
Insiders say the fight started around 4 a.m. after Drake refused to accept a bottle of champagne that Brown sent to his table. The 25-year-old musician, who has been romantically linked to Rihanna, allegedly sent the champagne back to Brown with a note saying “I’m still f------ Rihanna.” Angry words soon turned to punches and the rappers’ respective entourages got involved.
At some point during the fight a bottle was thrown at Brown, leaving a minor cut on his chin. Brown Tweeted a picture of the cut and wrote, “How u party wit rich n**** that hate? Lol... Throwing bottles like girls? #shameonya!.” The Tweet was later deleted.
By the time the fight was over, broken glass and overturned tables littered the floor. Brown and Drake had already left the club when police officers arrived.
Brown, 22, is currently on probation for assaulting Rihanna in 2009.
