Paul McCartney, Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan Memorabilia Among Items to be Auctioned.

If you have an extra $200,000-$300,000 stashed away for the Christmas Season you may want to consider purchasing the original handwritten lyrics for the Beatles ‘Maxwell’s Silver Hammer.” Paul McCartney penned the classic in 1968 for the “Abbey Road” album. Maybe a Fender Stratocaster guitar owned by Jimi Hendrix would bring a loved one some joy, it might only set you back $80,000-$120,000.

Christie’s Rock and Pop Memorabilia auction will be showcasing a diverse collection of material from the music world. Scheduled for December 4, the auction will feature love letters and personal notes written by Bob Dylan, items belonging to Jim Morrison and The Doors as well as current musical icons like Madonna.

Also on the blocks will be a previously unheard interview recording with John Lennon. In the 1974 interview Lennon speaks about a Beatles reunion and discusses his issues with the Nixon administration.
