Ben Wallace will be returning to the Detroit Pistons after the two sides reached an agreement on a one-year deal that will pay the four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year a reported $1.3 million.
Wallace spent the 2008-09 NBA season with the Cleveland Cavaliers but was trade to the Phoenix Suns during the offseason for Shaquille O’Neal. Phoenix then bought Wallace out of the last year of his contract which made him a free agent.
Wallace played for the Pistons from 2000 to 2006 and won an NBA title with the team in 2004. He has been a four-time NBA All-Star and has been named to the NBA All Defensive Team six times.
The 34-year-old Wallace is expected to sign his deal with the Pistons early next week.
