FIFA Rankings for the month of November
The latest FIFA rankings are in and the U.S. is out. In six months the Americans have fallen 26 spots to land at number 31 in the standings. It is the first time in seven years the U.S. hasn’t been in the Top 30.
While the United States fell in the Brazilians remained in the top spot. Their 2-1 victory over Switzerland on November 15 gave them enough points (1,588) to keep Italy (1,560) in the number two spot. Brazil has claimed the number one spot for more than four years now.
Argentina is within sight of the Italians, pulling in 1,551 points to earn the number three ranking from FIFA. France dropped a spot in the rankings to finish with 1,523 points and the number four position.
England remained fifth in the FIFA rankings while Germany and the Netherlands held on to their sixth and seventh ranking respectively. Portugal moved up a spot to become the new number eight while Nigeria jumped two positions to claim the ninth spot. The Czech Republic rounds out the top 10 in the FIFA Rankings for the month of November.
Russia, backed by a solid EURO 2008 qualifying run, climbed 10 spots in the rankings to hold the number 23 position. That is their highest FIFA Ranking since 2003.
