A prison riot in Chino, California on Saturday night left 40 inmates hospitalized, some suffering life-threatening injuries. There were no prison guards injured in the riot that was eventually brought under control by Sunday morning.
According to reports a fire was started in one of the seven housing units shortly after 8:00 p.m. at the California Institute for Men in Chino, located just east of Los Angeles and fighting between the inmates ensued.
Officials have said the injuries to inmates range from stab wounds to head trauma.
