Tiger Woods Captures 7th World Golf Championship-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone
Tiger Woods charged his way to his 70th career victory and 7th World Golf Championship-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone on Sunday after pushing past Padraig Harrington at the pivotal 16th hole.
Woods took to the tee box on 16 one stroke behind Harrington but after the Irishman recorded a brutal triple bogey it was Tiger atop the leaderboard and with just two holes left there was no doubt he would be hoisting yet another WGC trophy.
For Woods, the final round 65 gave him his seventh career win at Firestone making him the first player in PGA Tour history to capture a win on the same course seven times. The win also gave Woods back-to-back titles and plenty of momentum heading into the PGA Championship, his final shot at a major this year.
